Charlotte FC Academy Philosophy

We strive to create an elite environment that puts the adolescent at the center of the process. A culture that embraces learning, values hard work, and helps facilitate the resilience and courage necessary to succeed at the highest levels of the game. For us, "success" is assisting each of our young players along their very unique journey towards high achievement.

ACADEMY PROGRAMMING

The Charlotte FC Academy fields teams at U14, U15, U16, and U18.

The full-time teams train four nights a week, additional morning sessions, and represent Charlotte FC Academy on weekend games in the MLS Next League. https://www.mlssoccer.com/mlsnext

Additionally, the U16 and U18 teams will also compete in the Prestigious MLS Generation Adidas Cup. This lauded competition is exclusive to MLS academies in the US and includes professional international opponents.

The club is committed to operating a fully comprehensive Academy to MLS professional pathway.

Players selected to our Charlotte FC Academy Program will receive the following:

  • Daily access to dedicated professionals specialized in holistic player development.
  • The highest level of competition in the country through programming in MLS Next, the Generation adidas Cup, and potential international competition.
  • A fully funded MLS youth development pathway. All soccer-related costs are covered by the club.
  • An integrated player support system that includes guidance and support in lifestyle, education, and well-being.
  • A development pathway from Academy to Crown Legacy & Charlotte FC First Team.
  • Exposure to the US Soccer Scouting Network: A high-visibility, high-support pathway to college soccer.

CLTFC Discovery Program

U12 and U13 age groups are eligible to participate in the Charlotte Discovery Program, which begins in September each year. Selected players will train twice weekly and return to their parent club teams for the remainder of the training weeks and games. These flexible training groups will form teams representing Charlotte FC in friendlies and events throughout the year.

As part of this program, the club also intends to establish regional training centers and Talent ID events throughout its Homegrown territory of North Carolina and South Carolina.
