CLFC extends its unbeaten start to the season to seven games
Matthews, NC (Saturday, May 6, 2023)- Crown Legacy FC punch in two second half goals to defeat Orlando City B 3-2 in its return to Mecklenburg County Sportsplex Friday night.
Crown Legacy FC came out firing early with Cape Verde International Iuri Tavares finding the back of the net in just the second minute on a cross from Serbian International Nikola Petkovic. However as the first half came to a close, CLFC found themselves trailing 2-1 with OCB earning two goals on a counter attack and an own goal.
The Club found its breakthrough about midway through the second half when midfielder Thiago netted the equalizer and his first goal of the season. Tavares sealed the victory just two minutes later, securing his brace and third goal in two matches.
With yesterday's win, CLFC extends its undefeated start to its inaugural campaign to seven matches, winning six straight. The Club also increased its lead in the Eastern Conference, sitting atop of the standings with 19 points, five points clear of second place.
