Crown Legacy FC Earns Team of the Matchweek Honors 

CLFC earned its first win of the 2024 season with a dominant 3-1 win over New York City FC II

CHARLOTTE, NC (Monday, April 29, 2024) – MLS NEXT Pro today announced that Crown Legacy FC earned Team of the Matchweek honors for Week 7.

CLFC secured its first three points of the season in an emphatic 3-1 win over New York City FC II to win the award.

After a tough stretch to begin its second season in MLS NEXT Pro, Crown Legacy FC came out firing in Queens, New York with a goal apiece from Willian Sangoquiza, Dylan Sing and Jonathan Nyandjo. Each goal was the player’s first for the Club while Sing and Nyandjo also opened their professional goalscoring accounts.

Nick Scardina (one assist) and Aron John (two assists) continued to make an impact when available for CLFC. Tyger Smalls also started and contributed two assists after making his MLS debut just the day before where he played six minutes for Charlotte FC.

This is the Club’s first Team of the Matchweek honor for 2024.

Next up, Crown Legacy FC will finish its two-match away trip, taking on FC Cincinnati 2 on May 4th. CLFC will return home on Wednesday, May 8th at 7:30 p.m. ET to take on New England Revolution II at Mecklenburg County Sportsplex.
