Charlotte, NC (Monday, April 3, 2023)- Crown Legacy FC forward Brandon Cambridge was voted MLS NEXT Pro Player of the Matchday after netting a brace in a 2-1 win over FC Cincinnati 2 to secure the first three points in Club history.
In the victory over FCC2, Cambridge went on the attack early, connecting with midfielder David Poreba in the 25th minute to take an early 1-0 lead. The pair linked up again just nine minutes later, securing a brace for Cambridge and an early 2-0 lead for Crown Legacy FC. Cambridge’s second goal went on to be the deciding factor as CLFC defeated FCC2 2-1 for its first win of the 2023 season.
Cambridge currently leads all of MLS NEXT Pro in goals, netting three goals in the first two matches of the season. Crown Legacy FC also sits fourth in the Eastern Conference with four points early into the 2023 campaign.
Crown Legacy FC will now prepare for its first road match of the season, playing New York Red Bulls II on Sunday, April 9 at 7:00 p.m. ET. Fans can watch the match on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
