The former Charlotte FC Academy product equaled league single season assist record to earn the award
Charlotte, NC (Wednesday, October 16, 2024) – Crown Legacy FC midfielder Aron John was named to the 2024 MLS NEXT Pro Best XI, voted on by coaches and technical staff.
John, known as AJ by coaches and teammates, had a breakout season for CLFC, leading all of MLS NEXT Pro with 10 assists, tying the league’s single-season record.

John, 18, netted eight goals to go along with his double-digit assists, finishing tied for third in goal contributions in MLS NEXT Pro with 18. The former Charlotte FC Academy Player of the Year was voted June’s Rising Star of the Month prior to signing his first professional contract on July 12.
The Charlotte native is the second player to earn MLS NEXT Pro Best XI honors for Crown Legacy FC, the other being defender João Pedro during the Club’s inaugural season in 2023.
CLFC will begin its fight for the MLS NEXT Pro Cup in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals on Sunday, October 20 at 7 p.m. ET against top-seeded FC Cincinnati 2 at NKU Soccer Stadium.

Crown Legacy FC has clinched a spot in the MLS NEXT Pro Playoffs for the second consecutive season! First up, Crown Legacy will face top seeded FC Cincinnati 2 in the conference quarter finals Sunday October, 20th at NKU Soccer Stadium at 7PM.
