John provided five goal contributions in June to receive the honor
Charlotte, NC (Wednesday, July 3, 2024) – Crown Legacy FC and MLS NEXT Pro today announced that midfielder Aron John was voted MLS NEXT Pro Rising Star of the Month for June.
The Charlotte FC Academy product provided five goal contributions in just four matches to earn the honor, two goals and three assists respectively. John, known as “AJ” to coaches and teammates, also received Rising Star of the Matchweek honors in the final week of May when he scored a game-winning goal for CLFC at the death against Atlanta United 2, stealing all three points in a 1-0 victory.

We are proud of AJ and look forward to his continued development within our pathway and helping Crown Legacy FC contend for a title this season.”
John, 18, has been dominant force for Crown Legacy FC this season, leading the Club in both goals (6) and assists (5) in just 12 matches. The midfielder’s 11 goal contributions is tied for second in all of MLS NEXT Pro in that category and is the only academy player within the top two.
In 2023, John earned the CLTFC Academy’s inaugural Academy Player of the Year award for his work ethic and successes on and off the pitch.
