Charlotte, NC (Wednesday, February 1, 2023)- Crown Legacy FC today announced that Kevin Sawchak has been named assistant coach ahead of the Club’s inaugural season in 2023.
Sawchak, a native of Atlanta, Georgia, comes to the Queen City after serving as an assistant coach with USL League One side Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC during their inaugural season. Prior to his time in Colorado, Sawchak spent two seasons as an assistant coach with Chattanooga Red Wolves.
“Kevin comes to us with years of experience developing young talent,” said Crown Legacy FC Team President Darrius Barnes. “His time in the professional ranks along with his time developing players within the youth, collegiate and professional ranks will prove to be invaluable with our roster. We are thrilled to have Kevin join us.”
Sawchak holds his UEFA A license and is in the process of receiving his USSF A license while also holding a master’s degree in strength and conditioning from the Football Science Institute. Sawchak has also spent time coaching in the youth and collegiate ranks in Georgia, coaching for Atlanta United’s academy and Oglethorpe University.
Additionally, Sawchak spent 10 seasons playing professionally, mainly suiting up in Finland’s second division. Sawchak attended University of Alabama at Birmingham where he was team captain and Conference USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll member.
Sawchak has relocated to Charlotte with his wife and son.
