CHARLOTTE â Charlotte FC has signed centre-back Jan SobociĆski.
The 21-year-old Polish international arrives from ĆKS ĆĂłdĆș of Polandâs I Liga. SobociĆski, a left-footed central defender, represented his country in the 2019 U-20 World Cup.
âWe are thrilled to add to a young, promising player like Jan to our inaugural roster,â said Charlotte FC Sporting Director Zoran Krneta. âHe boasts valuable experience for club and country, and offers a unique skill set for a player of his age. We look forward to watching him progress even more over the next year.â
SobociĆski joined the youth ranks at ĆĂłdĆș in 2015, and was loaned to Polish third-division side Gryf Wejherowo for first-team experience in 2017-18. Upon returning to ĆĂłdĆș the following season, he became a first-team regular.
SobociĆski has recorded a total of 89 domestic appearances, and has registered six goals. He has represented Poland at youth level 16 times, most recently in the U21 team.
âItâs an honor to have a place on Charlotte FCâs inaugural roster and to be a part of the clubâs history,â says SobociĆski. âI look forward to playing in Major League Soccer and cannot wait to call Charlotte home.â
SobociĆski will occupy one of Charlotte FCâs eight international roster slots.
