Crown Legacy FC announced the signing of English defender Jamie Smith on Jan. 21, 2025.
The Englishman joins Crown Legacy FC after two seasons with USL League One side Greenville Triumph. Following his collegiate career, Smith signed a professional contract with Greenville where he made 64 appearances in two seasons, as well as tallied eight goal contributions. Smith’s defensive leadership on the field helped earn The Triumph their finish as USL league One Runner-Up in 2022.
Smith played collegiately at Limestone University from 2017-18 and North Carolina State University from 2019-21. While there, the Birmingham, England native captained Asheville City Soccer Club through their NPSL seasons and USL League 2 debut where he earned the TopDrawerSoccer NPSL Young Player of the Year Award in 2019.
