Nicholas Holliday

American goalkeeper Nick Holliday joined Charlotte FC on Jan. 1, 2025. Holliday was originally acquired by the Club’s MLS NEXT Pro affiliate, Crown Legacy FC, on Feb. 6, 2024, with his contract guaranteed to flip to a First Team deal at the beginning of 2025.

Holliday’s first season in Charlotte saw him appear four times with Crown Legacy FC, where he recorded 13 saves through four matches, where he posted a 2W-0D-2L record. The keeper kept a clean sheet in his debut at Atlanta United 2 on May 31.

A Chapel Hill native, Holliday began his professional career with USL side North Carolina FC where he made 27 total appearances. He signed with NCFC at the age of 15 in 2021 and made his senior debut that season, becoming the youngest goalkeeper to start a match in USL League One or USL Championship. In his final season with the League One club, Holliday recorded three shutouts in 13 appearances to help NCFC sit atop the table for much of the season before falling to a season-ending injury. The goalkeeper also spent time overseas on trial with multiple clubs, including PSV Eindhoven, Fortuna Dusseldorf, Bayer Leverkusen and Hertha Berlin.

2024 (Crown Legacy FC): MLS NEXT Pro Regular Season – Appeared in four matches, all starts, totaling 360 minutes. Recorded 13 saves and kept a clean sheet against Atlanta United 2 on May 31, his Club debut. Posted a 2W-0D-2L record.
