Crown Legacy FC announced the signing of Brazilian midfielder Thiago Rodrigues on Feb. 15, 2023. Rodrigues joined the Club from Brazilian side Esporte Clube Água Santa.
During the Club’s preparations for the 2024 campaign, Rodrigues went down with an injury that would sideline him throughout the season.
In Crown Legacy FC’s inaugural season, Rodrigues appeared in 17 matches, making eight starts, and scored one goal on the year against Orlando City B on May 5. Rodrigues also appeared in the Club’s playoff match against Columbus Crew 2, coming off the bench and record 12 minutes. He made his debut in the Club’s first-ever match on March 26 against Huntsville City FC.
Thiago joined CLFC after suiting up for Água Santa’s U-20 side for the majority of his time in Brazil where he appeared in five matches so far this season. The midfielder also made his first-team debut with Água Santa during the 2022 season, recording three appearances along with three more with their U-20 squad.
He featured at various clubs throughout his youth career, including in Sao Paulo based teams such as Sao Caetano, Santo André, Uniao Suzano and historic Santos. The Brazilian joined Água Santa prior to the 2022 season.
2023 (Crown Legacy FC): MLS NEXT Pro Regular Season – Featured in 17 matches, making eight starts, totaling 686 minutes. Scored one goal against Orlando City B on May 5. MLS NEXT Pro Playoffs – Appeared in the Club’s playoff match against Columbus Crew 2, recording 12 minutes off the bench.
