Crown Legacy FC announced the signing of Ecuadorian defender Willian Sangoquiza on Nov. 21, 2024. The defender initially joined the Club on loan from Ecuadorian side América de Quito on Nov. 20, 2023.
The Quito, Ecuador native appeared in 24 matches, 21 starts, in his first year with the Club, scoring two goals and adding one assist. In the Club’s playoff run, Sangoquiza appeared in both matches and scored in the Club’s first-round victory over FC Cincinnati 2. Made his debut with the Club on March 17 against Caroliana Core FC.
Prior to his time in Charlotte, Sangoquiza made 14 appearances with América de Quito and netted two goals with the club. He also earned significant minutes with its reserve side.
2024 (Crown Legacy FC): MLS NEXT Pro Regular Season – Featured in 24 matches, 21 starts, totaling 1,844 minutes. Made his Club debut on March 17 against Carolina Core FC. Second in completed passes with 893, with a passing percentage of 90%. Fourth in clearances with 19. MLS NEXT Pro Playoffs – Appeared in both of the Club’s playoff matches, playing 210 minutes and recording a goal in the first-round matchup against FC Cincinnati 2.
